OOTD

Todays outfit is from Kin for John Lewis.

Kin has been the go to recently when it comes to stylish, simple grown up pieces.

Camilla Rowe, John Lewis head buyer highlights this when talking about the Scandinavian inspired label. "This is not a seasonally trend-driven brand; it's about modern, stylish pieces that you can get some sort of longevity from. Kin offers beautifully cut separates that transcend seasons."

Millies navy and white wave print dress is so easy to wear, and I like the contrast of the pattern of the dress and the bright block colour of the tights and hat!

Here are a few other pieces I have my eye on!

Biker Jacket

This coral jacket would be great with a grey skater skirt and DM's!

The chambray fabric of this simple designed top would look great with a simple pair of bright yellow leggings and yellow head scarf with a nod towards the 50's!

Drawn Check Leggings

A crisp white crop tee and a simple pair of red leather sandals would look great with these leggings.

Cloud Print Dress

A pair of white hightops will add an extra edge to this cloud print dress.

Kin also design for boys, women and men, all with the same simple but stylish ethos!

We are BACK! Let me take a selfie!

Its been a while, but we are back! Blog updates will be more frequent, and Millie will be more involved!

Mill-I-Am

To add a quirky look to any outfit try some oversized glasses! Will-I-Am has championed this look, but these glasses from Primark women's look extra cool because they are too big for Millie's face!

Glasses from www.asos.com £3.50

I really like these two toned geek glasses from www.asos.com and they're reduced now to £3.50!

The 90's is still big news!

The 90's trend is still big news, and jumping on this is H&M with the Smiley Acid faced leggings! These are actually womens (size 8) but because Millie is so tall, she fits in to these!

I love these leggings from Bang Bang Copenhagen! They are crazy but cool enough to appeal to children, especially of Millie's age!

Add some fun with unique leggings

Believe in your selfie!

The obsession of taking selfies has been filtered in to fashion, with the abundance of slogan tees highlighting this! Slogan tees have been pushed to the forefront of fashion recently. So this tee from H&M is perfect for being on trend! I also like the message!

Slogan TEEs!

I like this tee from Finger In The Nose! Makes me chuckle!

The spot coat from H&M has been a staple for some time! I bought it in a size up, to make sure she won't grow out of it too quickly! The thin fabric means its great as a cardi style cover up on colder days or a light jacket on warmer days!

Chill out with a bomber jacket!

This pretty silk bomber from Zara would be great teamed with simple skinnys, or even better just go all out and team with crazy pattered leggings!!!

Hair accessories are still around, and the floral garland from Primark that for £3 looks much more expensive! Its really good quality! It will serve Millie well for the sumer festival season!

Topshop Floral Garland, so girly!

Try the highstreet fave for all things festival! This floral garland headband from Topshop is beautiful!

Festival Feeling

Wearing a black flower headband, Phister & Philiner playsuit and squirrels tail from Tell Tails outside the Big Top!

We have just come back from Camp Bestival, a festival that is geared around kids. We go every year and this year there seemed to be more kids than ever! Millie loves going as she feels she has been to a festival but feels safe dancing until midnight to Dick and Dom (yes thats right - Dick and Dom did a DJ set and we loved it!)

Black spot bomber jacket from H&M

Festival goes hand in hand with camping, and camping means you have to pack light. Theres no point lugging truck loads of suitcases, it will just break your back and you probably won't end up wearing the majority of items.

Get creative with UV facepaint, eyelashes and headbands!

But you don't want to hold back your creativity, as Camp Bestival is very much a creative festival this can be tricky. So the best option is to pack clothing that is light and doesn't need an iron! Light cotton and layers are the answer to this and also denim, denim shorts and jeans!!!

Welly Wanging!

There are many stall set up around the festival and there was one in particular I see each year that is very exciting called Sisters Guild!

Sisters Guild is an online shop that stocks some of the best in childrens fashion of a mid price range. Labels include: Bobo Choses, ilovegorgeous and and Petti Skirts (which Millie LOVED).

Update!

Hello! We haven't posted for some time now! But we have all been very busy! Normal service will resume as we are back to normal! Millie's daddy has been filming some music videos and I have been giving him advice on the styling side of things! Which was very enjoyable! All the ideas I gave him seemed to work and the artists loved them! YAY! But more on that later!

Millie has been involved in the music videos alot too, espeically for the Union J video Millie's dad directed and shot! She loves them and was so happy but super shy when first meeting them!!! But after a day of hanging out she was fine, in fact I found her on their tour van chatting away like old friends!!!

The picture here of her, George and Josh is so funny! I haven't ever seen her pull such a face before! It is a face of excitement and complete shock!!!

Oh and watch out for Millie and her best friend Winnie, they have just recorded their first ever Vlog, its full of fashion tips and ideas!!! It will be on here very soon!

Trends 2013

I have researched the key emerging trends for womenswear for 2013 and rounded up a kid friendly version of each trend.

 Trend: Relaxed Shorts

Comfy and relaxed, this trend was all over the New York catwalks!

Perfect fit for girls that don't want fussy tight fitting clothing, especially in the warmer months, these relaxed shorts from BoBo Choses are great. Team with an equally fluid shirt in a delicate colour & print and cute ballet pumps this outfit deserves a great summer!

Trend: Black and White

Whether it was Ralph Lauren, Oscar De La Renta or Michael Kors, black and white was seen in full effect across the fashion weeks.

There are quite a few interpretations of this trend for girls, but this dress from River Island embodies a few trends in one, stripe, contour lines and a fluid skater dress! Perfect with white pumps for a 50's inspired look!

 Trend: Stripes

Every colour goes and the stripe is placed at every angle! This trend is fun, bright and easy! We all own a stripey item!

I've said it before and no doubt I will say it again, but the best label for great quality stripey clothing for kids in all manner of colours is from label Katvig. I can't choose which item to post, so I selected a few items.

All above items are from Katvig @ Nordic Kids.

Trend: Beading / Embellishing

Something for the older child that won't eat the beads! The beading / embellishing trend is super pretty and delicate! Look for tees with detailing on the shoulder or a dress with a bib front bead placement and team with harder DM style boots for a edgy look or beaded pumps for the OTT look of the trend!

This Limited Edition beaded playsuit from River Island is spot on!

Trend: Sporty Dresses

Think skater dresses or tennis dresses! And the only place to go for such items is the king of all stuff sport/fashion - American Apparel! Their lovely simple skater style dresses for girls would look amazing with baseball boots and baseball hat! Toooooooo cool!

American Apparel is the best place to go for this trend for both kids and adults!

Trend: Flat shoes

I love that this trend is so acessable to girls of Millies age! Whether Converse high tops or ballet pumps flats rule for any age!

These bright blue brogue detailed flats from Boden are great and would brighten up any outfit!

HAVE FUN!
